Hm...

House update?

So Loud texted Hyper an ultimatum to have his stuff out of the house by August. Rather confrontational as is her wont, but ultimately reasonable. He really shouldn't have just assumed storing his stuff there indefinitely would be fine. Especially since he doesn't actually get along with more than half of the house. He definitely should have at least asked. If not mentioned it.

He actually seemed a bit outraged at being given a deadline! I feel bad psychoanalysing him, but when he acts so irrationally, I can't help it. The main thing which puzzles me is that he actually expects people not his friends, people he's previously said he "doesn't have anything to say to" (Quiet, a few others), and even people he has a fair bit of friction with (i.e. Loud) to accommodate him!

Weekend
Was really really supposed to do an all-nighter Friday night. Have been putting off an all-nighter for weeks and weeks. Am sure it would be good for me.

But instead, I went home to have a bite to eat, and to get the car. On the way back to work I was also going to return a spare mattress I'd borrowed from Lain (months ago when Sis was visiting) to her friend Evan, who now lives with Ellen. While there I was also hoping to pick up a library book I'd borrowed for Ellen which was due back. So I went and dropped the mattress off, found out Ellen didn't know where the book was, had a cup of tea, and received 6 texts from 3 people telling me to meet them for just 1 drink just around the corner. So went, had TWO drinks, and then it was 11:30 and I was tired and went home to bed instead. Pathetic.

But was up at a reasonable hour Saturday morning and spent all day here, and even managed to do a bit of work. Home again Saturday evening for birthday drinks for Nora's friend Quetzal at the GB. Home at a reasonable hour and again managed to be productive on Sunday. May still not be productive enough though. Deadline this Friday, and another on Monday. Then workshops and meetings out of my ears next month. Blah.

Rather anticipating this contract finishing.

Weekend:

Left work at a very reasonable 5:20pm and managed to catch Neiman's after-work hip-hop set at a lovely downstairs bar in the city. I had inveigled Egg and Lain and Haclev to meet me there, and Hyper works about a block away, so dropped in there to say "hi" and tell him to come over when he finished. Also got HM's Tess and Chris to drop in. So had a bit of a posse. Sank rather too much beer for a second night in a row. Then to another pub closer to home for WryGuy's going away drinks. He had a good 40-50 people in a nicely heated atrium. Got to catch up with a few people and drink Guinness.

Heh. Got in to work rather late today. Logged in to Messenger and four diff people started conversations asking variously why I was in so late and why I was in on a Saturday AND got two texts while I was trying to deal with those. Was momentarily overwhelming. But felt very capable of multitasking with the 4 diff messenger windows open at same time and texting replies too :)
