Went out on a school night again last night. Neiman had a dj set at an open decks night in the city which I *had* to go support at. Was also meant to meet new housemate at 6pm so she could move furniture in and store it there until she really moves in. BUT my subtle reminder text at 5:30 got a reply saying she wouldn't be by till 8:30. So I delegated door opening duties to Tess and went and caught Neiman play hiphop. He was good enough that they invited him to come back on Friday! Also got Sam (and Della and Lain and Egg) to meet up with me there. Was invited to dinner by Sam and Della and went for some lovely marinated roo and a really rich chocolate pudding. Was good.

The deadlines are looming in my head this morning for some reason. Didn't get enough work done on weekend.

Am supposed to leave early tonight because new housemate (The Chosen One) is coming by at 6 to leave some furniture until she moves in properly in a couple of weeks. Neiman is also dj'ing in the city at 6, and I might miss his set entirely (although I think I've inveigled enough friends to go that he should be happy). And am also supposed to drop off a spare mattress to Della for her bro (my rave/doof-buddy Sam) to sleep on while he's here. I hope parking in the city isn't too terrible this evening. Guess it depends what time I get there.

Hum. Update I guess. Um.

Was going to do an allnighter at work on Friday night, but then I let Hyper borrow the car to go to some important and far away dinner where he had obligatory ceremonial duties. Fleur and Neiman also invited me out for a boogie in Fitzroy, and both Lain AND Loud were also going to be in the area, and I sadly yielded to temptation. Then everyone piked at like 10:30pm and my karmic comeuppance for not working resulted in a sad staying-in on a Friday night. Saturday I spent the whole day at work. Started really well - for two hours maybe. Then all these other people came in too! People hardly ever work weekends here. Got distracted.

Saturday night went to a Haclev's housewarming. Wasn't feeling particularly social though, chatted to a couple of new people but mainly caught up with friends I haven't had much quality time with. Managed to actually get a housewarming present for him and via sneaky texting of his best friend behind his back, got something he actually wanted/needed. I hope he wasn't annoyed I got him something, but he got me a really cool present for my birthday and ... I just had to get something for him. But now I'm all worried he'll feel obliged to get something for me next time there's an opportunity. Although the next event is probably his birthday, so... shouldn't be a problem, maybe...

Was bad and took last night off. Hyper finished exams last week and booked me this week to go for a bender, and last night was it. Yes, went and got trashed on a school night. Naughty. Was good to catch up though and get some quality time since he's moving out pretty soon, and who knows how much time we'll get after that...

Stayed up too late last night. Gave up on work 9ish. So home by 10ish. Couldn't sleep (has been a problem lately - think I need to regain a proper balanced life with nutrition and exercise and socializing, etc.), so reread Vinge's Marooned in Realtime instead. I quite like it even if rasfw'rs don't. Finally turned off the light at like 2:30. Really should get a proper laptop so I can actually do work at home. Hm. How late will I work tonight? Over it right now actually.
